We are back in France. France has never had that much sway for me... We've been loads of times and the main attraction is visiting lovely friends who live here. I'm really disappointed we couldn't hack the heat in Italy and more fed up as once we got into France its just as hot....we might aswellbein Italy...
We spent a very non descript night in and even more nondescript expensive Aire... just outside of Geneca. given we had just had two fabulous nights in an amazing car park in Switzerland for next to nothing the Aire was poor... c'est la vie..
We walked down to Lake Geneva but its all private residences so we thoght ... b***** this for a game of whatever and we just had to trespass to get to the actual lake side. It all felt a bit precious... (obviously in a bad mood - reality of odd holiday days 🤣🤣🤣)
We moved on to a campsite just north of Lyon. Dr Fred - understandably is fed up of driving. We have had 2 long days.. steep windy roads... and we,ve run out of yorkshire teabags😵💫😵💫. He would really like to stay here a week but its not that nice... its ok - busy as its le weekend. It redeemed itself by offering moules y frites on a lakeside terrace... very pleasant - one of my favourite meals. We arrived here very tense but quiet easy surroundings and mussels helped to disipate that...
In the bar/ restaurant they were playing music... to Dr Freds horror the adjacent table started singing along... the song and words were projected onto a screen in the front of the bar... as the night progressed so did the audience participation... by the time ws left A LOT of people were having a great time singing along. ( i would have stayed).. we left pronto 🤣🤣 back to the van - but it was nice sitting outside the van in a fairy lit reasonable temp drinking local cheap wine... another different holiday vibe...
We had the annual Labyrinth tournament.. without the girls 😘 if you knowyou know... if you dont its not worth giving it further thougght🤣
We had avery lazy day - did some chores - the camp site insisted we had a hook up so we supercharged everything and reglued the flyscreen using the glue gun.... we reorganised under the bed and then just chilled for the rest of the day.... I've stitched 13 of the 23 bugs so far.
