La Gomera is the second smallest of the canary Islands. Its quite unspoilt even in the port area. Like all the canary Islands is very rocky... volcanic rock but also lush and verdant. We wandered through the town, found a map and headed up the (another) hill to walk to the lighthouse. We passed a pretty church- stopped for a quick look in It wasn't a huge walk, probably 4 miles round trip but the majority of it was up through the town up the side of the cliffs. The road goes a long way winding back and forth with hairpin bends in tiny spaces. The pedestrian path uses steps and ramps to cut some of the corners off. Thrre were spectacular roof top views..- it was a definete work out and taking the wrong turn to the lighthouse meant a much longer route.🤣🤣 Fortunately we had covered the longest uphill stretch and even had had a beer to quench our thirst.
