Pandemic Reflections

So today is a day of reflection regarding this last year of surviving a pandemic.... I'd like to be upbeat and positive about this and in fact for a lot of the last year our lives have been mostly that - we are fortunate - nice space, big garden, no money or employment worries, plenty to keep busy with and even little bit of family interaction.... However when I really reflect I mainly feel desperately sad for all that has been lost in in this last year.  Many people have lost loved ones and many more are suffering long lasting devastating effects of surviving the last year,  unemployment mental health issues - domestic violence, deep loneliness -  Retail and hospitality have suffered massively, travel, especially abroad has become a distant memory and the NHS is on its knees but still managing to deliver an amazing service and that is no thanks to a government who have proved themselves greedy beyond belief.  We will never know if a different group of individuals would have dealt

Random Boredom and Bananas and possibly hog returning..

Well life cant be one long round of crisps and gin - reality kicks in and entertainment remains  considerably more mundane....so I've been a bit giddy in the garden this week.. the sun has really gone to my head it's such a relief to see some sunshine and feel some warmth.  I have washed the 'nursery' greenhouse out.... A Little Foray into the Pinnacle of last Friday Night

Bring on Summer.... We are running out of entertainment options... bored with endless boxed sets - Spotify fills a large gap and the sun finally making an appearance certainly helped with garden chores but after dark we are reduced to such exciting ventures as blind crisp tasting!!! YES... this was our exciting experiment for Friday night.... as self confessed crisp addicts it was building up to be a promising evening if for no other reason we would have to eat a minimum of six packets of crisps!!!  We have been very circumspect about eating crisps recently - basically not buying them so they are not in the house because if they are we just eat them - what else would one do you might ask, well firstly, you might make them last more than one evening - and you might not fall out  about who has eaten them the quickest so getting twice as many... it had got to the point that we only allowed ourselves crisps on very high days and holidays or when we had visitors - none of which has happened
