Kick off those dancing shoes...

Finally recovered from a lovely weekend in Leeds staying with various friends, visiting family, all delivering wonderful hospitality.  I was belatedly celebrating my birthday so I was spoiled rotten and received lots of really lovely presents including amazing shoes, a parrot onesie, jewellry and lots of other fab things.  We had a great meal out with friends and family at Jinos Thai restaurant in Headingley - drinks before and after at a friends house and generally a good time was had by all.  Too much fizzy wine possibly but then again big birthdays only happen rarely.... I completely forgot to take any photographs to record the occasion so the only thing I can offer here is a picture of my completely fantabulous shoes - a gift from my friends in Leeds. - I'll spare you the parrot onesie....

Leeds update - sorry no pictures!

An excellent action packed flying visit to Leeds, the grandchildren are lovely as always, the little one likes sitting in boxes and the elder was thrilled with the 'dress up shoes' I passed onto her - I'll never walk in heels again!! We saw lots of friends we hadn't seen for a while, great visit to the Yorkshire sculpture Park, an inspirational quilting experience, we helped my son move house - my house is watertight and looking grand, - all finished off with a fantastic party in the barn!! I had to give up precious time to go to Leeds - never a chore but always too busy for comfort -  to sort out some family and house issues  (to my relief the new windows went in well and look great), the family were all busy and seemingly well - and its always lovely to catch up with friends and we were able to sit in a garden most evenings which was a real treat!  We went to a fabulous party at a friends barn last and were royally entertained by Holy Moly and the Crackers - brillia...

Every thing is illuminated... eventually and some Leeds Architecture

lions outside Leeds Town Hall Have had to go to Leeds this week, family stuff... its a handsome city in spite of the monstrosities they have put up to house John Lewis and car parks... one of the many stone statues that adorn the ornate victorian buildings I wasn't terribly organised about coming to Leeds, but was able to stay at my son's flat while he's away in New York.   When I got there there was no electricity it was 10 o'clock at night and I was in a bit of a panic as because if no electricity - no wifi - and my phone was completely dead - and I didn't really know what to do with an electricity key ha ha especially an empty one!!! I didn't even know where the meters were in the building!!! the irony is that my son had said to use the flat and then said you know how to do the electric don't you and I of course had lied and rather blithely said oh yes...- what a joke - I ended up tramping the streets of city centre leeds with an empty use...
