Secret Festivals

great visuals and lighting Lost in the Woods gathering once again... in a secret location near Darlington, another pleasant weekend spent lounging about in the sun with good company.. my weekends are very varied at the moment, the Royal albert Hall, Natural History Museum and then a wee field in the middle of Teeside listening to dub music whilst lazing in my comfy deck chair. notice there is fruit on the table!!!! There were lots of different bands playing, lots of different DJ ing after hours but the highlight for me was defo Dr Freds first live spoken DJ set in partnership with DJ Horace Zontal.. what a pair!!! It was great live poetry with crazy backing space tunes at its best. extremely effective alien on stilts - a tad scary  Meanwhile hovering around the site were Daleks and an alien creature roaming - all good entertainment -  the weather was kind and the setting was grand... I have to say I do prefer music in a field but sometimes needs must and the s...

Family quilts

Bring on 2017... new adventures, new challenges - We saw the new year in with a couple of friends, fizzy wine, tunes, laser disco lights and aliens stuck to the ceiling - yep one of those nights!  New years day brought a slower day watching Hitchcock films and Sherlock and finishing up Christmas chocolate and today a long walk by the sea, which was quite wild with enormous waves breaking right out to sea.  I was disappointed to see Amble pier had been set on fire - hardly a Brighton Pier experience but a shame to see that some was either daft enough or wanton enough to cause such sorry damage!  I hope the culprits are brought to justice. The festive season is over, the tree is down and cards packed away - and life is returning to normal. I've got some college work to catch up on we start back this week and this module is to hand in in a couple of weeks and I'm not quite sure where is going.  I've not quite got to grips with it, something just hasn't gelled from the...

More about moths (or aliens)

Knowing my interest in moths a friend brought me a find from a recent walk - it was a (dead) cocooned moth - she reckoned it was an old one - some moths apparently overwinter by wrapping up in a shell like cocoon and emerging in the warmer season - this one hadn't made it -She had found two so she dissected one and found a desiccated moth inside and brought the other one for me to look at- yes its a strange - but interesting gift - my friend is also strange and interesting... (many of my friends are)... so we dissected it on the kitchen table expecting dried moth but found a fairly gruesome alien like grub - damp and floppy and now I think we may be infected and ready to star in alien 5 - the togston alien meets grub affair - so posts from now on will be sporadic possibly because the alien got us but more likely because we are heading off in Beryl again - first to the Blue Dot festival at Jodrell Bank to see Underworld and then down to Wales and surrounding area to explore es...
