Our first port of call... after a very noisy night we got up late and eventually found some energy to go explore the town. The cold hit us as soon as we left the ship... I dont know why we were so shocked - its Norway in March!!! There wasn't much snow on the ground - just big piles here and there where it had obviously been swept up. The hills, when the mist allowed a glimps, were covered in snow but really the weather was grey, rainy and a wee bit sleety. The wind was very fresh. We wandered around the town - not particulary exciting....nice looking church and some good street art (spoiled by proximiy of rubbish bins). Dr Fred got excited by the undeground carpark, mainly because it was hewn out of solid bedrock...... We looked at moomin mugs but decided were absolutly do not need anymore mugs - even moomin ones- in fact I think my whole moomin collection is probably sufficient now. There were the usual obligatory troll...
