The bear talk was good, the ranger Mr Bear Ranger – had a couple of bear hides, (from a sustainable source allegedly) one was a grizzly and the other a black bear, they were incredibly soft and cuddly and very thick and tough. The grizzly one had alarming claws (for digging not mauling apparently). What I learnt was how to pull grizzly and black bear faces and so be able to tell them apart should I need to and also I can make the appropriate bear ears and backs!!! Interestingly black bears can be many shades of black, brown and even almost beige…. As can Grizzlys’ which are so named for their colour having fur with white tips often and not because they are grizzly by nature. There was also a grizzly bear skull which was much smaller then I had imagined it would be.
