Two nights and a day across the bay of Biscay... Portsmouth to Santander... a delayed start actually meant a very pleasant evening sat on deck having a drink and catching up with the friends we are traveling with for the first week or so. However the moment the boat started moving the breeze drove us into a more sheltered spot and eventually to bed....
I always sleep well on a ship... white noise gentle rocking - works for me. The day at sea was without drama... a day at sea... no whales spotted and alot of cloud and wind.
We had a nice picnic and sat on deck trying to spot the ever elusive sealife. It was sunny and relaxing.
We seriously entered into the spirit of things🤣 and played 'juke box bingo'🤣🤣 we didn't win we didn't even come near to winning ...and all we did was drive Dr Fred to desperation with our enthusiasm... to be fair a couple of glasses of wine and a cider probably lowered the inhibitions but we did know nearly all the tracks ... very sorry to have missed out on a Britney Ferries travel mug though🤩
Despite all this excitement it was an early night. We had to get up at 5:30 to get off the ferry so another decent nights kip and now we're sat on a campsite in drizzling rain on the north Spain Coast little place near Laredo. It's actually very refreshing to have some rain and everything looks so much more greener here when it did in south England we're surrounded by huge limestone rocks and Dr Fred is very happy.
