Belated new year greetings I wrote this post and then was carried away by festivities - actually we had a splendid evening with friends and their family watching The Railway Children (classic film) and then a few tunes. It was very nice indeed but here is to next year ...
Pack up your troubles in an old kit bag...and put them in the cellar, or under the stairs, in the eaves (not much room in mine..) Give yourself a break... soon like all stored items they hopefully will be come less problematic possible forgotten and even in some cases resolved... but at the very least they are shelved until you find calmer times, more positive energy and space to confront them with solutions and even laughter. When they emerge some time later they may seem less important less valuable and sometimes even irrelevant... so with that plan in place embark upon the the new year with glee..positive energy - remember to sing and dance a little every day, talk to strangers and use less plastic. If we all do that he world may be a kinder place.
Some years ago I posted a Neil Gaiman quote and here is another - he writes with a lot of sense - take heed - make this your resolution....

Remember to forgive yourself, and to forgive others. It's too easy to be outraged these days, so much harder to change things, to reach out, to understand.
Try to make your time matter: minutes and hours and days and weeks can blow away like dead leaves, with nothing to show but time you spent not quite ever doing things, or time you spent waiting to begin.
Meet new people and talk to them. Make new things and show them to people who might enjoy them.
Hug too much. Smile too much. And, when you can, love.
Neil Gaiman.
