If music be the love of food play on

Given the ridiculous rain scenario we are experiencing up here in the grim north, lack of beach walks means I have resort to drastic but entertaining measures - I've taken to dancing around the sitting room like a mad woman at least once a day for a minimum of 30 mins - often longer- I've been getting all the old tunes out - Faithless, Groove Armada, Leftfield, quite a bit of very old good 70's rock and disco!!! its sooooo therapeutic, burns calories, energy and just reminds me of good music and great parties.

I wonder how many pensioners to be are currently rocking their crocs off to such an eclectic collection from Led Zeppelin to Underworld... love it all!!!!  its such good fun.

There's very little rhyme and probably even less rhythm to my approach to these daily workouts and choice of music - I'm just slowly working through the old cd collection reminiscing along the way - the odd bit of Abba thrown evoking ridiculous grey goose fueled parties in the old days, DJ Manflesh in the house, DJ Yuri Cosmos 27 hour long space epics.... David Bowie days as I cooked family Sunday lunches, bit of Motown, and trying to remember the potential sound track to the wild west fancy dress party we held in Otley town centre for my 22nd(?) birthday celebrations.

Lets dance

Dr Fred provides some alternatives using Spotify for a change and more contemporary feel but really I'm enjoying revisiting the old old favourites and just have a good old boogie in the corner!!!

I dont know about music being the food of love but its certainly a good way to burn calories if you love food!!!

  1. Great choice of tunes there Ruby. Sometimes nice to listen to solid state media rather than virtual! I would imagine that not many pensioners are rocking their crocs of too those tunes but that's whats makes your household so very special. 👍

Scotland part 2

The second half of the week continued in much the same vein.  We had one rainy afternoon which was actually quite nice to be holed up in the house with the rain lashing the windows.  It probably wasn't quite so nice for the two visitors that came on their bikes but they're tough cookies - and its only water- but I did feel sorry for them having to cycle six miles back down the track in the wind and rain, but given Scotland,  it wasn't as bad as it could be.

Funchal

So after three days at sea we finally hit Funchal in Madeira.  An escape from the ship, and I have to say it was very pleasant indeed.  First of all the weather is really splendid.  Especially when you know that everybody else in the UK is suffering grim storms and vile winds..  Over here it is between 22 and 25 degrees is really quite warm.    Funchal is a pretty city. It's built on a hill it with lots of lovely white houses with stunning red roofs.   In order to get the best of it we walked along the sea front until we got to the cable car and we took it up the hill.  It was a really good ride much longer than we imagined and it's quite weird because it goes right through the town -  completely over everybody's house...  So not only do you get a lovely vista of the bay but you can view the beautiful rooftops and get to look in everybody's gardens and to look at their picnic sets.. clean washing nice plants... scratty backyards.... We got off th
