Lost in the Woods Festival III

I have been led astray this weekend!!!
Great weekend at the Lost in the Woods gathering III but seriously folks I have learnt things I never imagined I would need to know! And as a consequence have probably acquired some more bad habits!!!

Introduced and now hooked on a new hard liquor - never before tasted!!  Then the discovery of 'nice' flavoured crisps!!! which were never entertained before, and then to top it all - led on to eat real meat sausages which I haven't done for years... hard to go back to good old Linda McCartney's now!!!!

Excellent entertaining weekend with a mixture of old and new pals in a field not too far a way at a wee local music festival.  Great live music, pretty good dance tent and even tunes from DJ Yuri Cosmos back at our psychedelic camping area.  Our camp was brill we had spinning disco balls , fairy lights, blow up palm trees, pineapples ....

little video of our campsite disco...

We watched a beautiful sunset overlooking the valley from the Sentry Standing Stone Circle (circa  1996 but still lovely) and Dr Fred even managed a sunrise from the same spot.  Probably overindulged in pangalaticgutbusting cocktails, still not sure was in it but it was a very attractive frothing blue colour... tbh in my humble opinion it looked better then it tasted....

The weather was amazing - the only downside was there were rather a lot of small black beetles which got everywhere... in your mouth, food, drink, armpits, cleavage..... but better sun and beetles then rain and mud...

We met some really nice people and had a very chilled weekend lying in a field in the sun listening to good tunes... looking forward to doing it all again next year.

Scotland part 2

The second half of the week continued in much the same vein.  We had one rainy afternoon which was actually quite nice to be holed up in the house with the rain lashing the windows.  It probably wasn't quite so nice for the two visitors that came on their bikes but they're tough cookies - and its only water- but I did feel sorry for them having to cycle six miles back down the track in the wind and rain, but given Scotland,  it wasn't as bad as it could be.

Funchal

So after three days at sea we finally hit Funchal in Madeira.  An escape from the ship, and I have to say it was very pleasant indeed.  First of all the weather is really splendid.  Especially when you know that everybody else in the UK is suffering grim storms and vile winds..  Over here it is between 22 and 25 degrees is really quite warm.    Funchal is a pretty city. It's built on a hill it with lots of lovely white houses with stunning red roofs.   In order to get the best of it we walked along the sea front until we got to the cable car and we took it up the hill.  It was a really good ride much longer than we imagined and it's quite weird because it goes right through the town -  completely over everybody's house...  So not only do you get a lovely vista of the bay but you can view the beautiful rooftops and get to look in everybody's gardens and to look at their picnic sets.. clean washing nice plants... scratty backyards.... We got off th
