We had a quick landfall at Praia del Vitoria... we had been here in July so just got the shuttle bus into town, walked though the high street down to the marina and then walked along the promenade back to the ship. It was crazy windy... I just thought one gust and we will be in the sea. Which is what happened to Dr Freds hat😂😂. It was a good walk in spite of being buffeted along. We stopped about half way and had a coffee and a sandwich in a nice bar with panoramic sea views.
Once back in the ship I finished my latest novel - My Fathers House - by Joseph O'Conner. Excellent read, well recomended.
The sail away party was noisy so we waved goodbye to land - 3 days at sea to Portsmouth.
Those days passed surprisingly quick... chatting to guests, other speakers, watching a couple of shows because we had met the performers... I never quite made it back to art class - but had a really fab morning with the artist in residence playing withbger gelliplate and mark making.
We went to the drama workshop performance - the drama teachers have become intregral to the 7 o clock club and I hope we stay in touch... so initially we were going in solidation to support them but tbh the quality ofthe performance really did the participants credit obviously inspired by good role models.. it was very entertaining and fun.
We did the captains cocktail party (twice... free drinks)how happy does Dr Fred look🤣🤣 and as it was formal night we donned our evening wear and had a delcious meal at colours tastes.
We went to the crew cruise show... I don!t really know what to say... it wasn't dreadful but it just wasn't our thing.... but it was probably the best singing/dancing show of the month...
The final day was quiet... a sense of subdued acceptance across the ship in general. We packed, looked at the art and craft shows and had a final 7 oclock meet..there wasn't the usual farewell party🙁... so thats it guys the cruise is done and dusted and we had a great time.....
The only rock Dr Fred got to climb!!!!
